Made for the Midwest

Why Midwest drivers choose CDJR

Midwest driving means road salt from November to April, county gravel the rest of the year, and trips where a quick run to the lake is three hours each way. This is how the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram lineup holds up against that, with the numbers to back it.

01

Winter traction comes standard on most of the lineup

Four-wheel drive is standard on every Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, and the Dodge Charger with the Sixpack engine comes with all-wheel drive too. The Durango comes with standard AWD, the Pacifica offers it on upper trims, and the Grand Cherokee and Ram trucks offer 4x4 on most trims. That matters on a February morning when the plow has not reached your road yet, and heated seats and steering wheels are standard on several trims (Wrangler and Gladiator Rubicon, Pacifica LX) for the mornings when the thermometer disagrees with you.

02

Towing numbers that match lake, farm and job-site life

The Midwest tows: pontoons to the lake, campers Up North, gooseneck trailers to the elevator, plows on the front of the truck. The Ram 1500 is rated up to 11,530 pounds, the Ram 2500 and 3500 reach 20,000 and 37,020 pounds with the Cummins diesel (preliminary 2027 ratings), and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer pulls up to 10,000. Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups also come with snowplow prep wiring and a 220-amp alternator as standard equipment, which is the kind of detail that matters to anyone who plows for a living.

03

Built close to home, with some honest exceptions

Stellantis assembles the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator in Toledo, Ohio, the Ram 1500 in Sterling Heights, Michigan, the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango in Detroit, and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer in Warren, Michigan. Engines and transmissions come from Michigan and Kokomo, Indiana plants as well. Not everything is local: the Pacifica and Charger come from Windsor, Ontario, and the Ram heavy-duty trucks and ProMaster van from Saltillo, Mexico, so we say so on each model page and in our plant guide.

Something for everyone.
